Yes, we have another favorite place in the Berchtesgaden area! The Pension Mayringerlehen. We stayed here in 10/06, 10/07 and 9/09.
The Pension Mayringerlehen is located in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden, about 10 minutes from Berchtesgaden itself. The bus stop and TI (if needed) are just a few minutes walk away, as is the small, picturesque village of Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden. First, the owners/hosts, Sabine and Johann Grassl, are simply the most wonderful people you could meet. Warm, friendly and very helpful. You feel like your visiting friends. The rooms are very nice, beautiful views of the mountains, and situated a bit back from the main road (B305). They run an organic farm, so they have a field of cows (Johann makes some of the cheese served at breakfast), a few goats, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. The buffet breakfast (incl. with the room) is very good. They also have an "honor bar", where you can get yourself beer, soft drinks, snacks and even pizza. Just write down what you take. If you're looking for a warm, clean, comfortable place to stay while visiting Berchtesgaden, Salzburg and the Salzkammergut, the Mayringerlehen is hard to beat, and for the price, it's a terrific value.
Just a note, as I have the other post here. We stayed at and loved the Mayringerlehen on our first 3 trips to the area. Since the Mayringerlehen was closed in November, which was during our last 2 trips to the area, we found and stayed at the Guesthouse Friedwiese. Both are excellent. If I had to choose between the two, it would be nearly impossible. My wife's "solution" is that the next time we visit the area, we stay 2 nights at the Mayringerlehen and 2 nights at the Friedwiese. I have to agree.
