Winter trip to Corsica France

I will have 10 days on Corsica in December. I am looking for down time, and most interested in walking Beaches, wine, and experiencing the local culture and people. I am not interested so much in the mountains, (I live in Colorado) but would hang glide if I was near where that was offered. Best beach locations? Prettiest area? Do I need a rental car and move around or can I go to one beach area to get the essence? What is the train system like on Corsica? There is just so little written on this island, I am having a hard time figuring out where to go and how to move around. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
December in Corsica will probably be cold, with a chance of snow in the mountains. You can walk the beaches of course, but you can't lie on them. I don't think hanggliding would be on the cards either. It will be super-off-season, with a risk of iffy weather. Personally, I would go somewhere more lively.
As for transportation, a rental car is very helpful, despite the presence of a small train system between the three largest towns.
I can't vouch for prettiest areas since I haven't been to the whole island, only the northern parts, which I found very scenic (Cap Corse, Calanques de Piana, Agriate).
