Wine tour in Bordeaux region recommendation?

Looking for a recommendation for a day wine tour in the Bordeaux region. Looking to avoid huge, overly commercial wine makers or spending the day on a large bus.

I was in Bordeaux for 3 weeks in September, and went on 2 different tours, purchased thru the Tourism office. Both were excellent. The first took us to a large winery, owned by offshore insurance interests, where we had a tour. Then to a small family owned winery where we learned how to blend wines. We literally blended our own wines. It was very fun. The 2nd tour we did was at the end of September, just as harvest was starting. We had a tour, then harvested grapes for an hour, then got a 5 course meal. It was a family run winery as well. If you are interested I will see if I can find my souvenirs and tell you the names of wineries. Most tours are via bus, because the heart of the wine producing area is about 45 minutes away minimum. Both tours we had very informative guides who told us the history of the different areas we went thru, and kept us entertained.

The bonus with starting at the tourist office is that right across the street is a lovely little place called Bar A Vin. I believe it is run by the association of wine producers or some such. You can taste wines from various areas around Bordeaux, with glasses starting at 2 Euro. Prices vary, but we were always very happy with the lower priced glasses. They also have Charcuterie plates, and chocolate dessert plates at very reasonable prices. We stopped there a number of times, not just after our tours.

I found both tours well worth the price. And I love Bordeaux. It is a beautiful city.
