Wine tasting near Lyon

We are blessed to be able to stay with friends in May, who live about 30 minutes from the main train station Part Dieu. It seems that the Rhone and Beaujolais vineyards are a long way from the city. Are there any that are closer, or perhaps some tasting rooms nearby?
Thank you

A few questions that will help readers understand your frame of mind when asking your question:

In what part of Lyon will you be staying?

Will you have access to a car?

What do you consider "a long way?"

What do you consider "closer?"

What is your friends' advice on this topic?

A bit of searching the web using lyon dégustation vin as your search terms should be fruitful. For example: http://www.lyon-france.com/Que-faire/Activites-detente/Cours-de-cuisine-degustation

In addition, there are several wine shops in Lyon with tasting offered.

There are at least 3 wine regions that are each about 1 hour from Lyon by car: the Bugey-Cerdon region, the Beaujolias town of Fleurie, Morgon, etc., and the northern Rhone (Ampuis, Condrieu, etc.). There's really nothing closer, and I'm not sure that any of the above can be realistically visited by train or bus. On the other hand, as mentioned by another, there are wine shops in Lyon that might have tastings, as well as wine bars.
