We are staying six days in Les Baux and 5 in Cassis in mid- July. We appreciate wine very much and would like some tips on which wineries to visit. We are open to fitting one or two in on the many day trips we plan to take. We will have a car. We would prefer one excellent experience to seval so-so. In the states, we prefer smaller boutique wineries that make excellent wine and care enough to share their joy of winemaking. We try to stay away from the mega-wineries when possible. . Any tips?
Right on the edge of Cassis proper is Domaine de la Ferme Blanche, which we visited 10 years or so ago and really enjoyed. You're also very close to the Bandol wine area; the one we visited was Domaine Bunan, but there are loads of good ones. Most Cassis and Bandol producers are fairly small operations.
