Why do the dates in RS books end in August for Loire Valley.

Where are the September Dates in the 2019 edition? Is there something that doesn't work in September? Is stuff all closed? I'm just wondering. :)

Who knows. Certainly September is our busiest month

You should always use at least two guidebooks. Every book (and writer) has their blind spot or fixations

Hi, Francis. Most things are open year-round. For instance, here's a snip from p. 366 of the current France book that details both the regular, in-season hours and then mentions differences for peak season or off-season hours at various locations. The commas are important to reading these as they are actually separating the time periods - you might think of them more like semi-colons.

Chenonceau - Elegant château arching over the Cher River, with lovely gardens. Hours: Daily 9:00-19:30, July-Aug until 20:00, closes earlier off-season. See page 395.

Chambord - Epic grandeur (440 rooms) and fun rooftop views in an evocative setting surrounded by a forest. Hours: Daily 9:00-18:00, Oct-March until 17:00. See page 411.

Blois - Urban château with a beautiful courtyard and fun sound-and-light show. Hours: Daily 9:00-18:30, July-Aug until 19:00, Oct until 18:00, shorter hours off-season. See page 401.

Thanks Laura. Its also interesting that the France 2019 only makes one mention of Fontainebleau, side bar page 383, yet isn't in the index at all. Fortunately I also have the Paris 2011 book! :)
