Which Paris passes are optimal?

Planning a trip to Paris in July. Arriving in Paris Sunday, July 2nd, and leaving Paris on Saturday, July 8.
I am confused about which Paris passes to buy to save money.
Paris pass that covers many places of interest?
Paris train pass?
or is there any pass that covers both?
Appreciate any help.

Rick's guidebook discusses the pros and cons of passes, check it out.

Spoiler alert, they aren't really worth it anymore.

pass for what? Paris Museum pass IS a decent value IF you're going to go to a bunch of museums. I did use it when I went in 2021 and saw many museums, but i won't use it on my next trip. you have to add up individual admission costs and compare to the cost of the PMP.

The only pass worth buying is the Navigo Decouverte which will cover all travel in the Ile de France from Monday through Saturday including the return trip to the airport if you are going to CDG.

The Museum Pass is IMHO not worth the bother; just book the tickets you want. Since it no longer allows multiple entries to the same museum, its major benefit is now gone. It offers no benefits that just buying a ticket on line doesn't offer. Few will rush through so many museums to make it financially a bargain.

Optimally, you’ll skip all of these passes. They are only worthwhile to the people selling them.

If you are arriving CDG on a Sunday, the easy options to your hotel are:

  • Taxi (from the official taxi queue only), cost is fixed at 53€/58€ to the Right/Left Bank respectively
  • RER B/métro (train) at 11.40€ to the métro station nearest your hotel.

If this is your first trip to Paris - take the taxi, drivers are not tipped.

From Monday to Saturday, you can purchase a zone 1-5 pass for only 30€, (good for the bus, RER, métro). Load the pass onto your Android phone (using the Bonjour RATP app or the Île-de-France Mobilité app) or onto a Navigo Dévouverte card (5€, which must be properly configured before use).

To visit museums or other venues, purchase tickets in advance, online and use the same entrances as pass holders use.

Agree with the others that the Museum Pass has lost it's luster. Since many museums require Museum Pass-holders to make online reservations for timed entries it kind of negates any spontaneity plus as of 2019 you can only visit each museum once with the pass. If you are on the individual museum websites to get the timed entry reservation, it's as easy just to buy the timed entry and forget the Museum Pass.

What museums did you want to see?

If you did decided on a museum heavy visit and decided the Museum Pass will work for you, be aware they sell them for 2, 4 and 6 day time frames BUT they actually cover 48/96/144 hours so you can go in to museums over that time frame. That means with a 4-day pass, that if you enter your first museum at say, noon on Monday, you can go into your last museum before 11:59 of Friday
