Where to wait in Terminal 2 in Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris

I will be arriving in Terminal 2D and my sister will be arriving 1-1/2 hours later in Terminal 2A. After I pick up my baggage how do I get to 2A? If that is not possible, where can I wait for her after I get my baggage?

Are you heading in to Paris? I might just grab a cab and go on in to town unless your flight is late and hers is early, lol.

Here is the EasyCdg website that tells you how to walk from 2D to 2A. I've walked from 2E to 2F and it's pretty easy. I'd stay downstairs by the arrivals doors.

Thanks, that’s very helpful. I’m concerned what to do about my baggage. If I go to baggage claim and pick it up, can I then go to the gate my sister is arriving in? And are there coffee shops where I can wait??

Hello drcarrell! You can easily walk from terminal 2D to terminal 2A after you get your baggage. There is excellent signage. Once you’ve located terminal 2A head for the arrivals hall. Here is a link to the map of that area. From it you can see what’s available and determine a meeting point. There is a Starbucks.

This website has layouts of all the terminals. If you prefer a visual then search on YouTube where there are video tours of the airport and terminals. Hope this helps.

Picking up your luggage complicates the situation. You will be outside of security and will not have a boarding pass to get your through security to your sister's gate. If you cell phone connects then simply find a cafe/bar after you get your luggage and wait for her. Or, track her flight and met at her luggage pick up point.

Assuming your sister is coming from outside the Schengen area and has to go through passport, you cannot meet her at the luggage pick up. You can be in an entry hall, which is after she picks up her luggage, walks past customs and out the doors. As an earlier poster said, check the maps and videos for a 2A meeting place.

There is really nowhere to wait for someone in the unsecure area of 2A. There is a small McDonald's at the 2A-2C connector but international arrivals exit customs in the middle of the terminal where you could stand and wait if you wanted. Seating is very limited.

You can walk to 2A from 2D, I would allow about 20 minutes.

Some people meet in the lobby of the Sheraton hotel, which is in Terminal 2 midway between 2A and 2D and is just above from where the trains depart for Paris.

I recommend having a plan B, a time after which those waiting proceed to the hotel.

Sorry to post AGAIN...but Tocard's post made me think of something. In October a friend and I went out to CDG to meet her husband who was coming in to 2E. There are some seats there although many fewer than before Covid. We'd talked our way in to the terminal building even though we did not have boarding passes and were sitting in the seats waiting. A security officer came by and asked everyone to move saying they did not want people gathering there for long periods of time (why did they even have seats there??) So we had to move back to the building exit by the doors that go out to the taxi rank.

Just throwing that out there in case they do not want people lingering around the 2A baggage claim exit doors. Perhaps the McDonalds or Sheraton would be an easier place to wait and perhaps with a bit of food in front of you they won't run you off. By any of the baggage claim doors there are always private drivers waiting in a cluster with people's names on boards but in 2E they had them corralled off behind ropes in the Fall which was different than previous years.

Less friendly and more expensive, but easiest: Meet at your hotel having made the trip independently.

If I pick up my luggage and have to exit, how do I reach the Sheraton to wait for my sister?

First, the Sheraton is now a Marriott. Second, follow signs toward the train station. The hotel is nearby.
