Where to store luggage upon arrival in Paris?

My wife and I are scheduled to arrive in Paris at 6:55 AM local time (our first time traveling to France), but our Airbnb host will not have our apartment ready until around 2:00 PM. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on where the best place to store our luggage for the day will be? We are staying in the Marais, near the Saint-Paul stop on the metro. I've looked at City-Locker but none seem particularly convenient to where we're staying. I see that Gare de Lyon has luggage lockers, and is fairly close, does anyone have experience storing their luggage there, or have other recommendations? Thank you!

Have you checked with you Airbnb host? Some are willing to let you drop off luggage prior to check- in. You can assume that the earliest you'll arrive in Central Paris is around 10-10:30.

Thanks Carolyn. No luck with the host, he suggested we get a locker at Gare du Nord, which seems way out of the way and inconvenient compared to Gare de Lyon. I suppose either would be fine but am wondering if anyone has done this or has a better idea?

Lockers at Gare de Lyon are the best option IMO. Security control similar to airports, cash changing machine inside. Count from 5 to 10 euros for 1 day depending of the locker's size. Also using the metro line N°1 ( yellow line on maps ) brings you directly from Marais ( Saint-Paul station ) to Gare de Lyon ( only 2 stops away ). By the way I'm French and I've been using it myself many times, no issues. Good luck.

If you're landing at CDG, the RER "B" train will take you right to Gare du Nord where you can use the lockers. Or you can take the Air France bus from CDG to Gare de Lyon and its lockers. Both pretty convenient, RER cheaper and involves more bag-handling. From either station, unless your bags are light and easy to handle, I'd recommend a taxi to your apartment when the time comes.

This site has loads of info on rail transit in Paris, including station maps showing where the lockers are.

Dick's suggestion is excellent. Last time I was in Paris, I stayed in the Marais. The Air France bus ("Les Cars") was much more comfortable than the RER, and someone loads and unloads your luggage for you. You can buy a round-trip ticket and save a couple €. Ask your host which bus would be best to take from Gare de Lyon to your flat.

For the Cars AirFrance to Gare de Lyon, you take the one that has as its destination Gare de Montparnasse (Line 4) . It stops FIRST at Gare de Lyon.

(This brings to mind another observation, which is that i don't know WHY they give their routes line numbers -- i.e. Line 4. It makes it sounds much more complicated than it is. There really are only three choices, I think: a bus that goes to Porte Maillot and Etoile, a bus that goes to Orly airport, and the bus that goes to Gare de Lyon and Gare de Montparnasse. But by having to tell you find Line 4, it makes it sound like there are 6 or 10 "lines" you have to check through! It's not the case!)
