where to stay in Lyon

My wife and I are planning a 6-day/night stay in Lyon. Rick Steves' book lists only 5 hotels.
Can anyone please suggest some hotels which are centrally located to enjoying and seeing
the sights of the city. We do not have a car. but are counting on using the metro and the tram system if feasible.
