We'll be in and around Bordeaux for 4 or 5 days. Would you recommend staying in Bordeaux itself, or in one of the surrounding areas frequently mentioned, such as St. Emilion, Arachon, Aquitane, Dorogne, etc.? Also, any recommendations on gites to look into as possible places to stay? Thanks.
