Where to spend a few days after finishing the Tour du Mont Blanc

We are doing a self-guided hiking trip of the Tour du Mont Blanc, ending in Chamonix in mid-August. We have a few free days after finishing and are trying to figure out where to spend them. We are open to places within a day's train ride away. Any recommendations? We are usually active travelers (and are in our early 30s) but will probably want to be taking it easy after the hike. We will have been in Geneva before the hike, and Zurich is not high priority because we have been before.

Any suggestions welcome! Thoughts about Nice, Marseille, possibly somewhere in the French countryside?

Annecy or Lyon are lovely. Lyon has wine tours of the Beaujolais or Cote de Rhone region; also great food and slow hang out spots too as well as a major airport.

Montreux, Switzerland an hour away from Geneva at the opposite end of the lake.
