I will be driving north to Strasbourg early Monday morning. I understand that it is not a good idea to try to drive and park in the city. There are places to park and take trams into the city. I cannot find clear information on these parking locations, nor how the tram works, hours, cost, etc. Perhaps you have done this and can advise me. Thanks.
just heading to bed -late here- but very briefly I've parked at a Strasbourg P&R but don't remember the name. The tram stop was right in the P&R, and easy ticket machine and easy and fast ride into the centre.
Just drove from Colmar up to Strasbourg on Saturday April 30th.
We parked at the Gutenberg Parking garage, a few blocks from the Cathedral:
Pl. Gutenberg, 67000 Strasbourg, France
Arrived 9:45 am, there were 140 spaces available.
Gutenberg is very, very central and convenient in that regard.
For a slightly easier drive, look into the Centre Historique -Petite France parking lot, it is just a couple of minutes' drive from the motorway exit and quite close to the historical centre too.
I once stumbled on Parkopedia. We didn’t really need to use it and have no idea if it’s accurate but it may be helpful? Safe travels.
These are very helpful. I wonder how early the trams start running.
The trams start before 7 AM, maybe later on Sundays, but I would not bother with park and ride since there are plenty of parking lots within walking distance from the central area.
There are a bunch of parking garages. We went during the Christmas markets and had no problem finding parking even then. If you use Google maps, you can search for parking. There are signs indicating vacant spaces outside the garage.
