Our United flight will arrive in Terminal 1 and my sister's Delta flight will arrive in 2E at around the same time. We plan to taxi into Paris together. My sister has only landed at T1 and is unfamiliar with T2 (as am I). Neither of us will have checked baggage to claim. I'd appreciate your suggestions on an easy place to meet her. I presume the taxi stand, but curious if there are other suggestions, please share. Thank you.
These terminals are far away from each other. One of you will need to take the CDGVAL (the internal rail shuttle) from your terminal to the other. Then you will have to find each other in whichever terminal you choose.
I guess there is slightly less room for error of the person arriving in Terminal 2E goes to Terminal 1, but if your planes really do get in at about the same time, that means the Terminal 1 person will end up waiting a good little while.
If you have been to Paris before, have your sister meet you at Roissypôle, meet and board the RER B there. Roissypôle is the midpoint between terminal 1 and terminal 2 on the CDGVAL and a departure point for the RER B into Paris. Cost is 14€ each.
There are a lot of taxi stands, several in terminal 2, one in terminal 1. Meet halfway at Roissypôle, take the train, and save time and money. Note: on Monday through Saturday, a taxi can take 60 - 90 minutes to reach addresses in Paris. The train takes little more than 30 minutes.
The Sheraton Hotel is in Terminal 2, you could meet in the lobby, or in Le Galaxy Bar. The CDGVal train from Terminal 1 stops right there.
I agree with Sam, as the the Sheraton is a straightforward place to meet and easily found within T2. I think its better to have her come to you: in February, my son and I took a taxi to T1, where he was to depart from, before I made my way to T2 for my own departure. It was my first time in T1 and it was a zoo! The taxi could barely find room in front to stop and the terminal itself was sooooo busy. I think it would be easier and less stressful to find one another at T2, which as has already been mentioned, is easy to get to from T1 on the free CDGVAL train.
Thank you to all for your suggestions, my CDG world has opened up! We've always been T1 travelers and taken a TGV from CDG (so very familiar with CDGVAL) in all of our previous trips (except one, when we splurged for a private driver), so your thoughts are much appreciated and helpful. Bonne journee!
