I'm arriving at CDG on AA at 10:30 am in Terminal 2B but my friend is arriving on UA at 12:30pm in Terminal 1. Since I arrive first, I was going to meet him at the arrivals exit in Terminal 1. I know I can take the free CDGVAL train from Terminal 2B to Terminal 1, but can I do that with my checked luggage? I'm just wondering if the CDGVAL is before security and near the area where I will get my luggage?

Yes, you can take luggage on the CDGVAL. I am guessing that just about everybody else on the train will have their luggage as well. It is land side between Terminal 2D and 2F, where the Sheraton hotel and train station are located.

CDG Val is landside and everyone has their luggage either coming in or going out. You will stand with your luggage.
