Where is a good place to eat at CDG close to the cluster of hotels near Terminal 3?

I'll be staying a day and evening at CitizenM hotel. They apparently have one restaurant/bar inside. Are there other places to eat nearby? Does one have to go back to Terminal 2E to find other places to eat? I know that the TGV/SNCF area has a Monoprix, Paul, etc. but I really have no idea where to eat during my 18-hour stay at. CDG. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Depends how far you want to go. Just behind your hotel is a Hilton - they usually have somewhere decent to eat. If you search google maps for restaurants, you will see lots of options.

I would take the train to Paris and dine there and have done so. 18 hours at an airport hotel when you could spend the afternoon and evening in Paris and then head back for sleep? the Paris Visite pass would cover this and costs 30 Euro and would include any other travel you might want to do in Paris as well as your round trip to the airport.

I'm coming up from Aix on the TGV and want to check into my hotel at around 2 p.m. I think I will want rest much or most of the afternoon, get some work done in my room. It takes a good 45 minutes to get into Paris, and I don't like crowds. Also, I'll be spending a month in Paris beginning in mid-December.

The Hilton has worked for me off and on for 20 years. Used to be a bit of a dump but has improved substantially. The Pullman Hotel down near. the train to Terminal 2 is pretty good also. There are a number of other on airport properties that others may recommend as well as the die hards that insist one’s last night has to be in the city. So as always the choices on the airport are pretty broad.

Don’t discount the restaurant at Citizen M! I stayed there and had a very good dinner. Plus the lobby and bar area (where you eat) was lively and the staff were friendly. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I had on my trip.

The worst meal I have had in many many long trips to Europe was the restaurant at the CDG Hilton --

Interesting! For those of whose who don’t want to traipse into the city on the RER or take a taxi for a ew hours of sightseeing, we have to make the best of a not great situation. This is where finding a decent meal comes in. The assumption I have in mind is that the hotels serve meals a cut above airplane food but not by much. And they seem to have a captive clientele: those staying in the same hotel, who may not feel particularly adventurous. Some of the places in or near the airport seem to involve some effort to find, including getting a taxi.

Thanks! I feel less worried about my dinner Thursday now!

I must have been at Citizen M with Renee above. We found the restaurant quite good and lively for dinner. Breakfast very good too. Much better than other airport hotels we have stayed the night.

Again, thanks for sharing, Laurie Ann. Though the room seems quite small (no coffee maker, either), it seems like an okay place to while away half an afternoon and an evening. Everyone says the breakfast is good.

It depends on your definition of close. I've been looking around also and if you want to go ~10 miles there are restaurant although with limited hours (i.e., open for a few hours at lunch and then again at dinner).

For example a pizza place that is well rated - Le Pacific, 6 Rue de Marly, 95380 Puiseux-en-France, France
An African place - Le 221, 15 Rue de la Liberté, 95470 Survilliers, France
Chinese Royal Lys d'Or (Les Cinq Saveurs), 36 Rue de Paris, 95380 Louvres, France
Another pizza place - Place Pizza - Louvres, 5 Av. Charles de Gaulle, 95380 Louvres, France

We are flying out of CDG and will be staying the night before and I was wondering the same thing about food since we don't want to go too far. Of course going anywhere will require a taxi unless it is on a train station stop or close by.

Good luck.
