Where are scenic "day cruise boats" on French rivers

We would like to stay at one location on a French river and take day cruise boats up or down river to view the scenery. So, a day-only boat, not one where you stay overnight.

Which section on which river; has a section with attractive villages/ cities/country vistas and is well-served by frequent scheduled cruise departures. Not close to Paris but preferably locations well-served by train to a major airport.

What term do they use to describe day cruise boats in France?

What is the name of the main day cruise boat companies?

I've never heard of this in France, the way you can ride up and down the Rhine and Mosel in Germany. You can rent canoes, etc at different places, however. In Paris, Canauxrama has a daylong Impressionists and Guinguettes trip, following in the footsteps of what we see in this Renoir painting.

Exactly. I was assuming there would be major lines, like the German KD and BS on the Rhine and Moselle, which operate like ferries. Multiple stops at each town per day. So you don't think that happens in France?

I'm sure there are day cruise boats, 2-5 hours long, but not scheduled to stop along the way. Right?

Thanks

I can't think of any like the former. I believe there are plenty of the latter. For example, the Dordogne from Beynac. I believe Lyon may have some.

My husband and I will be in Dordogne for a week beginning October 6-13. We fly to Paris and then Paris to Toulouse. Renting car in Toulouse and driving La Roque Gageac. Which will be our base for a week. I understand we will be right on the Dordogne River. I also was wondering about day cruises, sailing, Any info for this area appreciated. First time renting car in another country also.

We too are are staying in La Roque in June. They have sailing boat tours that travel the Dordogne. Also canoeing is very popular.

Thanks Richard. I love doing sailing excursions. Have you been to La Roque before. Also interested in doing some of the cave tours. Was wondering if you had preferences
