I know I need to buy tickets for the Eiffel tower in advance, when is the best time to purchase? I will be visiting France end of May.
The official site currently only sells them two months in advance
as soon as they become available for your date then buy them. Good luck with that because they're gone in the blink of an eye.
Yeah, the split second they become available for the date you want. If you dont get them, you can wait in a line for the stairs option. This only gets you to level 2, but Ive gone up both ways (to the top with tickets, and to level two via the stairs) and they were both spectacular ... and the line wasn't too onerous for the stairs option)
Okay thank you! Two months in advance. I will be checking frequently!
Practice purchasing the tickets for several days before you buy them.
Does anyone know the correct website to purchase?
Shoshana,
The Eiffel Tower tickets usually become available up to 3 months in advance of your desired date, at 8:30AM (Paris time) and they sell out very quickly.
When we visited Paris in June 2016, I booked our tickets in March, and our first choice date sold out within seconds, so I had to wait till the following night (morning time in Paris)
You may want to study the website as you'll need to create an account prior to buying your tickets.
Enjoy your time in PAris!
Thank you! I will do that!
Hello - I'm in the same situation, but traveling in April. When I went to the site to look today, it appears they are only selling tix through the end of February. However, Rick's 2019 books says they sell them 3 months in advance. Am I missing something? Thanks!
I am noticing the same on the Eiffel Tower tickets. I've been checking every day for our trip in late March.
Lots of misinformation here because things have changed recently. They used to be out 90 days ahead first thing and were gone quickly. They now sell more tickets on line but not reliably -- anywhere from 60 days out to whenever and they tend to release them in batches so you can't know for sure when your dates are available. This means checking every day until you get tickets. Because more tickets are sold, the lines are a little longer for reserved slots to go up.
If you want to walk up you can buy a ticket for the elevator to the top when you buy your walk up ticket; combo ticket. Everyone lines up on the second floor for the elevator to the top, so it doesn't matter when you get that ticket.
I noticed the same thing last night... only available through the end of February right now.
Didn't the Rick Steves blog just say that no tickets to the summit were being sold on the second level ??
I was there last summer and no tickets sold on 2nd level for summit.
no tickets to the summit were being sold on the second level ??
This has been posted on the forum a number of times by myself and others. It is one of the primary reasons why I suggest that for winter visits, it is better not to purchase tickets in advance. If you want to go to the summit, you cannot purchase tickets only to the second level and then decide if you want to continue to the summit. In winter, just go on a clear day and purchase summit tickets.
For May, purchase tickets on line but the sales open window is constantly changing making it almost impossible to anticipate when tickets first become available for any given date.
Okay, so it might be better to wait to purchase tickets in line? I saw on the website that summit tickets were available.
Eiffel Tower tickets are now available for the month of March!
Shoshana,
I’d suggest booking your ticket(s) online, in order to avoid waiting in a possibly long queue at the Eiffel Tower.
Thank you. I think that is the best option.
Eiffel Tower tickets are now available for the first 23 days of April!
Wow, that's good to hear. Thanks.
April is open, but can anyone purchase a ticket? I've tried multiple dates and all of them say they are not available. Some in another thread told me they are only available 60 days prior to the purchase date. Anyone experience this?
