When to buy train tickets from Paris to Reims?

We are flying into Paris and meeting our tour in Reims, so we'll be hopping on a train soon after our flight lands. I've read that the SNCF tickets are good to buy in advance, but I haven't wanted to purchase them since I'm not sure if the times are flexible. Would a ticket I buy now still work if our flight is delayed?

You have to look at the conditions of the ticket. Some tickets can be exchanged. 1st class tickets are more flexible. You need to read the fine print. SNCF has become rather passenger unfriendly in recent years.
