I am planning a vacation in France for early Sept 2025 and noticed that it appears, at least from one website that it is too early to buy TGV tickets. This got me wondering, how far ahead can TGV tickets be purchased?

Usually about three months prior. Sometimes four months.

If you go into SNCF app and open an account, you can set an alert for when a specific ticket becomes available. It’s under the My Account tab.

120 days in advance of the train’s departure date is the official SNCF timeframe. I’ve seen TGV tix for sale earlier than 120 days occasionally on The Trainline’s website.
