I am having a hard time figuring out the musical fountain schedule at Versailles. Are they only on weekends and some Tuesdays? We'll be there in August.
And are they worth trying to see or is it just kinda nice if you happen to be there.
Thanks

It is clear on the web site -- weekends and Tuesdays. They run for an hour or two in the morning and again in late afternoon; you can exit and re-enter the gardens with the ticket and so tour the rest of the estate mid day if you like. WE thought it was very much worth doing:

I believe that you are correct. Saturdays & Sundays from April thru October. Tuesdays from mid-May thru June. And a few exceptional days. In 2017, the exceptional days would include Tuesday, August 15. I'm planning a trip in 2018. I haven't yet visited Versalles. Someone else will have to answer the question about whether you should plan your visit to see the fountain show.

Just fyi, when we went on a fountain day it was much more crowded than it usually is in the summer.
Whether seeing the fountains run is worth it is a personal judgement. They are beautiful sculptural works with or without water. For some, they really want to see them run. Others won't care a bit. The entire site gets more crowded, but partly because it's a weekend.
Also know that the fountains do not all run at once. They stagger them just like they did when Louis XIV would stroll the gardens. So to see them all or some of the key ones run, you'll have to plan time there. The Neptune Fountain runs at the end of the day.
