Party of 3 adults visiting Paris, July 30 - August 5, 2015; one uses a wheel chair, cannot stand or walk. We're looking for 2 bedrooms in a city center hotel, one with handicap accessibility. One bathroom must have a tub for easy transfer from the wheelchair to a plastic shower seat).
We would like to visit some Loire chateaux. Does anyone know of a tour group that offers day trips with wheelchair accessibility?
We would also like to visit a winery. Any suggestions?
We previously spent 3 days in Paris and saw several sites. This time we plan to see Versailles and more Parisian sites than we had time for on the last visit. Any other suggestions, restaurants, etc., would be very welcome.
Does anyone know if any of the Seine river cruises cater for wheelchair-bound patrons?
For a few fully accessible hotel listings, try the Paris chapter of Rick's 2006 Easy Access book (out of print), online at http://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/read/easy-access-europe. Reconfirm your needs with the hotel when booking. See also general links at http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/trip-planning/travelers-with-disabilities.
Just google "accessible paris" for lots of info including sage travel.com which offers wheelchair accessible tours. Always take into consideration that many, many restaurants have the WC down a narrow, steep stairway. The sites you will find when you google will list hotels and restaurants for people with mobility issues.
Thank you both for your helpful suggestions. We are following up and hope to find something suitable.
Rfarman,

Thank you Priscilla. We have contacted Sage Travel and they are helping us.
Have a wonderful trip!
