what to see in the 2nd arrondissement?

I've decided to take half a day or so to wander the alleys and passages of the 2nd arr. and nearby.

Has anybody any suggestions for off the beaten path places in or around the 2nd? I already plan to visit La Maison du Pastel just to the east.

Thanks in advance.

Nigel, Take a look at wiki travels for a quick view.
I really like the old Biblioteque Nationale on the rue Richelieu. It has what is called a "Cabinet des Curiosities" a free mini-museum with all kinds of interesting collections given by the pre-revolutionary 1% to pay their taxes. You'll see King Dagobert's throne from the 7th century, among other things. You can also catch a couple of exhibits in the BN's galleries at any time.
