What day tour would you recommend to go to Normandy out of Paris?

There are 4 of us in Paris this September and we'd like to take a day tour to Normandy. Has anyone got any recommendations? Ideally the tour would be smaller, like 20 or less. Thank you!

We enjoyed our Bayeux Shuttle tour. They give instructions on how to catch the train in Paris and meet the tour guide. We had a van with about a dozen people. I would say this tour followed Band of Brothers sites fairly well.

Overlord Tours offers tours from Paris. They are excellent.

While I'm glad someone had a good experience with Bayeux Shuttle, they canceled on me one day before a scheduled tour in Normandy. Fortunately, Overlord was able to find a place for me. It turned out to be one of the best one day tours I've ever taken.

We took the Overlord 1/2 day tour from Paris. Early train there, checked out a museum and Bayeux for a while, ate lunch, then toured. Back to Paris on the train that evening. Some will say that a half day tour from Paris is way too short. Yes, it is. But when it's the only option that will fit into your travel plans, and you want to make a visit to Normandy, it's a great option. We were there the first week of June and experienced 3 flyovers--we loved it! It was a short, but great tour. I believe they also had a full day tour from Paris. Just be prepared for a long day.

ETA: The van we took held about 8-9 people

I can't recommend strongly enough to allocate more time for a visit to Normandy. Trying to fit it into one day means most of the day will simply be spent getting there and back. And this area is worth so much more than a selfie on Omaha Beach just to say you "saw" it. You will see very little, and understand even less on a day tour.

Totally agree with you, PharmerPhil. If I wanted to see the D-Day sites in Normandy, I'd take a late afternoon train to a Normandy town, such as Caen, spend the night there. Get a full day tour, then head back to Paris after the tour. Even then, you wouldn't be able to do Mont St. Michel . . .

Overlord Tours. We had several people on our tour who came in for the day. (Yes, a day isn't ideal; yes overnight or longer better, but if that's what you have that's what you have.) At the end of the tour, our guide dropped off the day tour folks back off at the train station. It's all well coordinated and a great tour company.

We stayed in Bayeux for 4 days. Unfortunately, the day before our full day tour with Overlord, my husband seriously injured his foot. They moved us to a half day tour because we weren't sure what he could manage. They even offered to provide a wheelchair for him in the van for the American Cemetery. So we really appreciate Overlord.

Overlord was great for us. Obviously if you can devote more than a partial day, that would be better. We had 2 full days with Overlord..but partial day is better than no day.

Overlord has a full-day tour designed for people staying in Paris. You must take the early train to Bayeux but are picked up vlright at the train station there and get a tour with just about the same coverage as one of their standard full-day tours.

A bus tour from Paris would have a very large amount of sitting-on-a-bus time. There is necessarily a good bit of driving-around tine once you get up to the invasion area because you will visit quite a number of different sights.

Most if not all of the Bayeux-based tour companies use vans rather than full-size buses, which reduces the time needed to unload and reload at each stop.
