I’m going to the south of France for 5 days in Mid March. Would you recommend Ville Franche or Arles and Aix?
I've not been to Ville Franche. However, I stayed in Aix and Arles a couple years ago and enjoyed them both immensely. Aix is so relaxing with a good Tourist Center and bus and train connections. Arles was enjoyable for the Roman museum, the amphitheater and other Roman sights as well as its history of when Van Gogh lived and painted there.
We were near Bandol last year and will be near Nice this year, both in March.
Weather last year was cool, highs in the mid to high teens, but warm in the sun. It's a good time to visit unless you love blazing hot weather.
I'll leave it to others to rank those tourist spots.
