We would like to stay in Chamonix an extra night...or two. Has any one done this and if so were you glad you did..it looks so beautiful. From Chamonix we plan to go to Annecy...
Any thoughts or suggestion would be most helpful. Our tour starts August 24 ends Sept 4 ..

I stayed in Chamonix for one night in 2012 en route to Lauterbrunnen Valley and could have easily spent another night or two. It would depend on what you like to do. Chamonix itself is not very large as I recall, however, there is Mer de Glacé which was cool, a gondola to Aiguille du Midi that we wanted to do but couldn’t due to high winds and there’s hiking or paragliding. Beyond that not sure there is much to do but it is a lovely place.
