This is going to sound like a bad joke...but...as a migraine sufferer, I will not be able to drink any wine when I visit Paris for the first time this September. I can imbibe liquors. Do any of you seasoned Paris travelers have a favorite old bar, historic dive, or otherwise memorable adult beverage location that you could recommend? We are staying in the 2nd arrondissment. Merci!
Harry's Bar is in the 2nd, just off Avenue de l'Opera. Celebrated 100 years in 2011.

My favorite is the W.O.S. in the Latin Quarter. Not old or historic, but they show Green Bay Packer games on the TV.
Disclaimer: I have not yet been to Paris. I am however, a cocktail aficionado. I have friends in the business, including the editor of a drinks focused publication, and here are some places I am looking forward to visiting in October.
The famous historical bars - Bar Hemingway, and Harry's New York Bar, both are in the 2e
Candelaria - Cocktails in the front Tacos in the back bar 3e
Mary Celeste - 3e this was my friend's favorite
Le Syndicat, was recently been shortlisted by Tales of the Cocktail for their annual "best bars" awards. No personal recommendation yet, but I may try to go and report back. 10e
I was expecting you'd get more replies with suggestions. Its not my thing, but I was happy to find the cluster of Picasso's and Hemingway's hangouts in Montparnasse - Le Select, La Rotonde, and one other across the street.
FWIW. cocktails are pretty popular at cafes all over Paris so you won't have any trouble there. I like mojitos and in the last two trips --this May and last, have had about a dozen -- 11 of the 12 were excellent. One sucked, but I don't average better than that in the US either. We haven't been to any famous bars but have had no trouble finding cocktails of various sorts at ordinary cafes and most have happy hours. I noticed that the bar on top of the Galleries Lafayette (outside on the view terrace) was featuring French 75s -- I didn't try it as they are a bit stronger than I want to tackle mid afternoon.
Le Mazet In the 6th is the last place Jim Morrison was seen alive...it’s divey enough so it meets your criteria.
Merci a tout pour les suggestions! Really looking forward to visiting some of the aforementioned bars...especially the dive-ier ones! A votre sante!!
I don't think anyplace mentioned here so far can be described as divey . . .W.O.S. is a sports bar, but not a real dive (IMHO).
Pierre will be glad to hear that his bar is not a dive.
Le Train Bleu, the sumptuous (or, alternatively, vastly overdecorated) historic restaurant in Gare de Lyon, offers a much more cozy bar to hide out. The restaurant's decor will knock your socks off -- preferably silk -- but I can't say if the cocktails will do the same.
Would the Bataclan qualify as historic?
Maybe not for you. Check out the websites and see what you think. Not bars only but interesting locations where young Parisians hangout outside of the general tourist area.
