Want to stay midway between Zurich and Beaune

Hi everyone!

I’ll be driving from Zurich to Beaune with friends and I’d like to stay somewhere in between for 1 night. I’d love a cute town with a place to go swimming (this is for next month, August). We will be doing some wine tastings through Burgundy and thought it would be nice to stop somewhere on the way to stay for the night. No real preference for which side of the border, was leaning toward France without any real reason why.

Anything come to mind??

I'd stay in the Alsace area of France somewhere. It's an amazing wine growing area with lots of history. Beautiful villages, castles, wineries, good food,. What more can I say..... ! We stayed in Ribeauville for a week and really enjoyed that area. It's just north west of Colmar. It's only about 2.5 hours from there to Beaune. Anywhere in there would be a good overnight spot.
Edit - just read the swimming part - hmmm, have no idea.

Alsace would be a little out of your way but the wine villages are charming. We stayed in Riquewehr but could have stayed in any number of these small towns.
It isn’t a very long drive to Beaune from Zurich however.

Right after Belfort, you have Montbéliarde, which is a town, but right after that is Baume-les-Dames, on the most beautiful villages of France list.

Baume les Dames is à good shout out! In the area I can also recommend Besançon, if you prefer a larger town.
As for swimming... No idea.

Many of the towns and cities on Lac Leman have swimming beaches. Have a look at them and see which ones you like.
