Visiting Paris in July

Hello,
Me and my husband USA citizens planning to visit Paris from July 28 through August 8 and staying in LA Marais area. I am trying to find what is the COVID situation, has tourism returned, are most places opened etc from different sites/blogs but cannot find much information. If you have recently travelled there or are right now in Paris Can you let me know how things are in Paris right now, how you feel being there in current situation etc. I know the vaccine requirements but need more information about things in general. Please help me I am very excited but nervous 😓. Paris has been my dream city to visit and it would be heart breaking to see streets with less people, traffic , shops closed.

Thanks
PAT.

Starting in August the situation of crowds might diminish as Parisians start their vacations. I’ve been in Paris during this time and it was wonderful. Remember if you’re visiting museums you will need a timed ticket. The newly reopened Carnavalet is free but you still need a time slot.
Enjoy this amazing city.

Hi Pat,

If you're a podcast listener, take a listen to the Join Us In France podcast. The host, who lives in Toulouse, recently went to Paris and has an entire podcast on what to expect in Paris at the moment. The title of that episode is " The New Normal in Paris in 2021",

Safe travels!

My son was just in Paris from 6/18 to 6/22 with 3 friends. Very few tourists anywhere, Versailles was almost empty.
Mask indoors, no mask outdoors unless you’re in a line or a crowd, like at an outdoor market. Parisians were nice and friendly and happy to have them.
They flew from San Francisco to Lisbon (layover) to Paris CDG, they had their negative Covid test results and CDC cards (although no one at any point asked any of them for either - they did not check bags) and had no problems at all.

Le Marais is a wonderful neighborhood to stay in.

I’m going to piggy back off of Susan - I have been in France since 13 June and I spent the first week in Lille. I arrived in Paris on the 23rd and it has been absolutely wonderful. I feel like I rediscovered the Louvre Museum and it’s such a treat to not be surrounded by hundreds of paparazzi like tourists next to the great works. I actually was able to get some good pictures. I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Frankly, I am so happy with how things are going I called today to have my trip extended six days. Since I have so much credit from hotel vouchers I’m able to easily make this work. Now I got to figure out how to stay forever.

That’s wonderful Alexander!
Yes, I forgot about the Louvre, they said the same… very few people there.
This is the best time in Europe.
They went on to Italy, Pompeii was almost empty, Coliseum very few people, the Forum was empty.
They just got to Greece today… Acropolis not a lot of people.
Stay as long as you can Alexander, et bonne vacance!!
