Visiting Paris for two days

We will be going to Paris from London on the train for two days/nights. We are looking for a hotel that we would be able to walk to the most popular sights as we are first time visitors. Could anyone recommend a few? Also, I have been reading all the comments regarding France and I thank you all.
This forum is the best I have ever been on. I do have Rick Steves Paris 2018 book, a huge help!

You won't find a hotel that is within walking distance of all of the popular Paris tourist sites. Paris is too spread out. You're better off finding a hotel in the central part of Paris (the 1st -6th arrondissements), and within a couple of blocks of a Metro station (preferably one where at least 2 lines intersect). You can do a search of this site for Paris hotels for previous threads. Then go to a site like booking.com where you can filter for price, location, and amenities.

I'd suggest a place near Place St-Michel, which is central to many sights, close to the river, and on the RER "B" line to and from Gare du Nord as well as other Metro connections. Place St-Michel itself is crowded and busy, but there are lots of good hotels on the side streets within a few blocks. Booking.com has a map, good filters, and reviews by people who have actually stayed in the hotels. Others will have many good suggestions based on their experiences.

This area is very close to Notre Dame, which is a mixed blessing now that it's closed. Presumably you can see the beautiful west facade and the building's overall shape, but you'll also see the fire damage.

To get specific hotel suggestions you really need to give us your per-night budget in euros. The room is for two people, right?

It would also help to know your sightseeing targets.

Are you returning to London after the couple of days in Paris? If so, that definitely does argue for something along the line 4 or RER B line for ease of access to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar coming or going (the St Michel stopmentioned would work for that ).

Essential to any recommendation are the budget window in euros and the general dates.

We will be in Paris on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25. We expect to pay:$200-300 per night. Does that sound reasonable? Thank you!
