We will be in Paris during mid-Sept for five days. The first two places I checked did not have Giverny small group tour availability from Paris. Any advice the group has regarding last minute tickets fo Giverny? thanks,
Did you check Giverny’s website? It sounds like you are having problems finding room on tours there. It is possible to get to here without a tour.
I’ve gone twice on my own from Paris. You take a train from Gare St. Lazare to Vernon. Outside the Vernon train station there will be a bus waiting to take you to Giverny. In 2018 the bus was €5. After the bus dropped me off I took a picture of the return times, walked to Monet’s house, bought a ticket and went in. Do the reverse to return to Paris.
Yes, I agree with the others. This trip is pretty easy to do on your own and I'm not one that is particularly good with figuring out trains, lol!!
There is work being carried out on the line to Giverny. Instead of under an hour, it could take 1 hour 30 minutes. You can check here: https://www.ter.sncf.com/normandie/se-deplacer/info-trafic/calendriers-travaux
Having been to Giverny twice, I'd never join a group tour from Paris. Overpriced and not needed. If you buy your garden tickets online, you can use the group entrance when you arrive and get ahead of the crowd.
