Besides just tourism - checking off the usual list of sites to see - who else has gone to France specifically for language study?
I have done a couple of stays of several months, and other visits lasting a few weeks, in order to immerse in the language. I have studied French for decades just to be bad at it, but I still want to improve!
Visiting France, I've already checked all the boxes long ago so I prefer to do a deeper dive and stay somewhere off the beaten tourist path. The main reason being that if you are in a town where there are few tourists, the locals are less likely to speak English (or at least less likely to accommodate you in English.) Therefore, you are forced to use your French.
Anybody else visit France with this goal in mind, and how is your French coming along?
