Villepinte and is it an Ok area

Going to Paris on a budget 3 of us, I reserved an Airbnb in Villipente and now that my trip is planned I would actually like to stay closer to Paris. I booked it because of price, but was informed that it wasn't the best area. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where in Paris or a little outside that it is affordable.Oh my budget is about 80- no more than 100.00 a night

It would help if you tell people your budget. My budget is usually $80-100, but other people think budget is $200. People can give you better ideas if they know what you consider affordable.

Hi,

I've been to Villepinte once, didn't really care for it. As an area that you are totally unfamiliar with and presumably don't speak the language, I would not stay there. It is better to stay in Paris itself. When will you be in Paris?

The other thing is to consider if you will lose money on your original airbnb based on how strict the cancellation policy is....

Well I will be there Sept 10-15 and I cannot afford in Paris itself, I was looking for hotels and about the least expensive one was about 679.00 a night. I got 5 days for 320.00 and that is really ideal, of coarse it is 15 min to Paris, but I realize now I should have booked a different place, if you have any suggestions please let me know I am eager
To learn more of the area

Because of your dates, it doesn't pay to get a transportation pass. However, buying individual tickets out to Villepinte is 20 euros per day per person just to get back and forth to Paris. That 60 euros, over five days = 300 euros. Add that to the price of your Villepinte rental and it's the same as the Paris rental.

September is a tough month, but look for places in outer arrondisements: 20th, 19th, 18th, 13th, 14th, or just over the Peripherique (ring road) which is where large tour groups stay. Check booking.com, or look for Ibis Budget or Hotel F1, which are at the low end of the Accord hotel group. Also, try hostels, but be careful multiplying the individual rates by 3.

I was just checking airbnb for those dates and there are still some places avail for 3 people - don't know if they are whole apartments or private rooms or what your needs are for beds (do you need 3 sep beds? want sep rooms? do you mind sharing a room?).

I put in a price between $0-150 (Canadian dollars since I'm in Canada) and private room/whole apt and it came up with 300+ rentals (depending on what area you want). So you may want to keep checking airbnb - a private room(s) is going to be cheaper than a whole apt...and there are some issues with people renting whole apts in Paris, which is why my husband and I tend to private rooms.

There are two RER stations in Villepinte and neither is only 15 minutes from Gare du Nord. It's more like 25 minutes. Given your budget concerns, what is the cancellation policy for the rental that you have? If it has a strict cancellation policy, you may not be able to afford to cancel anyway.

" I was looking for hotels and about the least expensive one was about 679.00 a night. I got 5 days for 320.00 " I assume that you mean 679 euros for the five nights in a hotel but you got an AirBnB apartment in Villepinte for 320. Did you look at AirBnb apartments in Paris? I am surprised that none are available for between 320 and 520 euros (with 520 being less than you would pay for the current rental plus transportation to Paris) even though September is still peak time.
