Victory Day in France = clogged roads and extra taxi charges for longer trips as a result?

So I'm not sure how I missed this, but we will be arriving at Charles de Gaulle Airport on a French national holiday on 8 May: Victory Day. The landlady of the apartment we'll be renting said we should really take a taxi (to the Latin Quarter) because traffic will be bad on a holiday. Unfortunately, we've got too much stuff to be dragging on and off the metro and down a street to our apartment. (Rick would not approve, but I'm bringing tons of photography gear for a couple of shoots I'm doing there!) There will be 2 of us, with 4 bags between us (3 rolling carry-ons and a small suitcase), probably taking a taxi around 3:00 or 3:30 in the afternoon. Our apartment is a block from St Severin church, just a block or two from the Seine, to give you an idea of distance from the airport. Just how expensive could a taxi be?

Not a problem because the traffic will be leaving Paris for the four-day weekend, not going into Paris.
Someone else can give you a better estimate of the cost of a taxi.
Edit: i suppose the lady meant the RER would be crowded. Not so. People have the day off. Her alarm seems confusing.

Bets I think soussia must mean the landlady recommended the RER .. because traffic will be busy.. but I agree it will not be a big issue to take a taxi into Paris.

Soussia.. I think , with equipment, luggage and possible traffic issues you should count on it being 55-65 euros.. normally 45-55 euros. The taxi driver will charge you one euro for each suitcase or bag in the trunk.. and that is an off meter charge... so count on that being 4 euros there.

It may be less.. but as I said I would count on 55-65 and be thrilled if there are no traffic issues and it may be less.

Pat: Yes, that is correct. The landlady said the roads could be crowded and I should take the RER (my mistake--I wrote "metro"). I'm expecting to pay at least 65 euros, but will hope for the best. Thanks again, everyone.
