Versailles Tickets for children

Hi All,

We will be visiting France over Christmas. I am trying to book our tickets to Versailles. It appears you now need a timed pass - even for children, who are free. When I'm on the Versailles website, it is easy enough to add the two tickets for my wife and me. However, I can't figure out how to add free passes for our two children. There is a button to click that says "free admission" which opens a new page with explanations about who is eligible for free tickets along with a hyperlink that says you still need to book a time. When you click on the link it sends you back to the same ticketing page that doesn't appear to have anywhere to actually book said free tickets. Has anyone else figured this out? I must be missing something. Thanks for any help!

It can be confusing. First go to the box-office:

Then select your date, which will reveal your ticket options for the day. Select the type of ticket you want, for example “Passport”. Sometimes it might ask for the date again, just select it again. Then it will present the entry times available for your date, pick one. At this point you will be able to select the quantity of regular price and free Passport tickets you want . Choose 2 regular and 2 free admission. DO NOT click the button/links to open the other windows explaining the qualifications for free admission. That may be causing the problem.

Then proceed to check out. I followed these steps just now, and was able to complete the order up to adding my credit card details. I hope this helps. Your children under 18 will just show their proof of age on check in at the Château.

Have a great trip to France and Versailles!
