I was on the Versailles ticket website trying to see about booking tickets to see the palace and gardens. I see that under 18 are free but I did not see a place to book them. Do I just buy two adult tickets and show up with my children and their proof of age?

When you go to book the passport on the official site (be sure you are on the official site) when you choose passport there is a list of options to choose and one of those is for free tickets for those under 18. YOU MUST have tickets for the kids; this is not a place where they can just walk in with you without tickets.
