We will have a group of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) in Paris in June. We are planning to go to Versailles while we are there. I know there are no "skip the line" tickets, but I am trying to minimize waiting times. The only two days we could go would be Tuesday, June 19 or Wednesday, June 20. It sounds like Tuesday would be busier than Wednesday. I understand I can book a tour of the Kings Apartment which will allow us to do a separate security line. The problem is the tour doesn't seem to be offered on that Wednesday (date is greyed out), only Tuesday. In looking at the Versailles website, I saw there is a restaurant, Ore, that offers a meal, either breakfast or lunch, with "direct access to the palace". Does anyone know anything about that? I'm not trying to skip out of security, but if there is a way to access a shorter line, I'd like to do that.
My options:
1. Prebook entrance ticket, go early, stand in regular security line for palace, visit gardens in afternoon.
2. Prebook entrance ticket, go early, visit gardens in morning, go to palace in afternoon.
3. Prebook guided tour of Kings Apartment for Tuesday. Visit palace and then go on to gardens.
4. Prebook Ore breakfast, have breakfast, access palace for morning, gardens in afternoon.
5. Probook Ore lunch, visit gardens in morning, have lunch, palace after lunch.
We will be taking public transportation from Notre Dame area to Versailles. We hope to go to the Arc de Triomphe that night when it is dark to see city all lit up, but otherwise we won't have any other scheduled plans for the day.
Any comments and suggestions you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
