Hello, we are planning a visit to Versailles at the beginning of our Paris trip, we were hoping to go right from the airport with museum pass. We are all bringing carry-on luggage, I'm a little confused by the Versailles website. Can carry one luggage be left at the "left luggage desk"?
Thanks,
TJ
you may be in compliance with the carry on rules of your airline flying into Paris
but make sure that your bag does not exceed the rules at Versailles;
they do not check luggage that exceeds these dimensions:
55cm x 35cm x 20cm

How large is your carry-on bag? They will not accept large bags at Versailles left luggage and I am pretty sure that the bags they will accept must be 55cm x 35cm x 20cm or less. If your luggage is too big and if you are going right from the airport, I am guessing that you are planning on taking the train. If so, just take the RER B to Gare du Nord, leave your luggage there or at any of the many luggage drop off places in Paris and then go on to Versailles and then pick it up later. Another option would be to contact Eelway (eelway.com) and have them get the luggage from you at the airport and then deliver it to you later at wherever you are staying. You can also try contacting nannybag (nannybag.com). I think they offer luggage storage in Versailles.
That plan is very ambitious and frankly if arriving after a long flight a bad idea.. Versailles is HUGE and a tiring day.
I recommend against that plan and plan to visit another day.
If you are coming from N America, I agree with pat, that going to Versailles is toooo ambitious a destination on flight arrival day
You should check in to your hotel, drop your luggage, and go walk around to get rid of jet-lag.
Go another day to Versailles - the place is tremendously huge...
I agree with the others that if you are arriving from North America or Asia, etc., this plan is very ambitious. Good luck with it. If you do it and have time, please report back on how it went.
