We are headed to Versailles in early June. Just wondering if the Kings Apartment tour is worth the extra euros/time. Versailles is such a big experience, we don't want to miss anything. Thanks for your thoughts and impressions about this.

I can't say whether it will be worth it to you, but enjoyed the King's apartments tour very much, and have seen other good reviews of it. You also have a separate entrance and can avoid the long, main security line for the Palace.

Good point, BG. Is that entrance well-marked? Should we go through the rest of the chateau after the apartments? Not sure how that works. Since the tour time is at 9:30a, I am guessing we still need to get to the chateau early, before opening, and then after the tour, hit the rest. Appreciate any advice on navigating to the right line for security and quicker access to the tour. Thanks!

We took the King's Apartment tour today. Arrived about 9 for our 9:30 entrance time and were through perimeter security quickly.
The tour office is in the right wing of the chateau. You must also have purchased a ticket or have the museum pass.
We thought the tour was excellent and well worth it. The rest of the chateau was wall to wall people, so it was nice to have at least the 1.5 hours of the tour that wasn't mobbed.
