We will be in Paris for 5 days in December. Already going to Strasbourg and Colmar for 5 days. 4th time in Paris. We have been to Versailles 15+ years ago and don’t have a super strong feelings for going back unless it’s special before Christmas. Thoughts?
Do one of the Vaux le Vicomte candlelight evenings instead.
Rome2rio says over 2 hour train ride. Already traveling to Strasbourg mid Paris stay. Thank you but thinking something easier.
Two hour train ride where? Certainly not Vaux le Vicomte. Rome2Rio is among the least reliable guides
What is a better app than Rome2Rio?

I use Google Maps, but plan to switch to City Mapper after a tutorial from a friend, lol.
Google Maps does say 2 ish hrs by train including shuttle/taxi to Vaux-le-Vicomte from Paris. I’ve been several times and it’s absolutely wonderful and well worth the time. But for you, never having been, i’d recommend a day visit… not at night when it’s dark out. I’m sure Vaux is stunning inside lit up by candlelight, but at night you’d miss a lot of the other wonderful things about it imo.
Thank you!
