Versailles: Guided Private Tour Apartments of the King with 17 year old

I just purchased tickets for the private guided tour of the apartments for my daughter and I. She's 17 years old and qualifies to get into the palace for free. I'm planning on purchasing the Paris Museum Pass just for myself as she will get into all the museums for free.

In order to not have any bad surprises that day -- am I correct in my analysis that she will be able to enter with just the $10.00 guided tour ticket I bought her? The Versailles website says, "This price is in addition to the admission price." Since she's entitled to free admission, will the guided tour ticket will be sufficient?

This is directly from the official Versailles website in regards to ONLY the guided private tour of the apartments of King Louis XVI: "Free admission: For children under 10 and for one person accompanying a disabled person, book your tour with a free admission ticket."

And again after selecting my date and time: "Caution, this price is in addition to the admission price (except for free admissions), whether:
- Passport
- 2-Day Passport
- Palace Ticket
- “A Year in Versailles” card

Free admission:
For children under 10 and for one person accompanying a disabled person, book your tour with a free admission ticket."

My daughter is 17 and not under 10, so she does not qualify to get into this private tour for free.

If no one is able to answer my original question, that is fine. I will come back after my trip and report back an answer; maybe help someone in the future who has the same question as I.

I don't have a definitive answer, however I interpreted it the same as you did. We are going mid-June and my daughter is 17. I purchased a Versailles passport for myself, garden ticket for my daughter (fountain day so there is a charge) and the tour ticket for the two of us. The biggest hassle is that it was 3 separate transactions.

When is your trip?

Edhmom4, we will be there the last week in June. And I agree the process of buying tickets is a bit of a hassle and slightly confusing. Good luck to us with our tickets and I hope you have a wonderful vacation with your daughter! :-)

We just did that same tour and yes with the $10.00 guided tour she will get into the rest of the palace at no charge. It's also nice if you do the Kings apartment tour before the self guided tour then you just start right inside the palace and go on from there, no lines or waiting.
