Versailles fountain show entry

I read it from Versailles's web site that
"Ticket allows one entry through the Cour des Princes, or the Little Venice, the Menagerie and the Neptune gates, and a second one by another gate."

Do I only have 1 time entry into the fountain garden and not allowed to re-enter after get out to the canal or the palace? I wish I could go back and forth between those places in the same day. Any body has experience for this?

Thank you!

When there is a musical gardens or fountains show day, you can only enter twice on your ticket. As noted, entry must be at different gates. We exited the palace, entered the gardens at the Cour des Princes. We then exited the gardens at the Little Venice gate, toured Trianon, and then re-entered at the Neptune Gate. Our final exit to go home was at the Cour des Princes.

I didn't realize you had to use a different gate which seems stupid. We entered near the palace and then left at the bottom of the garden to visit the Trianon and Hameau and then re-entered at that lower garden gate for the afternoon fountains.

it is good to have two entries because the fountains only run for about 90 minutes in the. morning and then again in the late afternoon --

We didn't try to enter the same place a second time, so I don't know how strict that rule is - if it is checked automatically when your ticket is scanned or not. The gate agent near the Palace did ask my 5 year old her age to make sure we weren't trying to sneak in a 6 year old for free (she is quite tall for her age and was about to turn 6 after our trip). So they definitely are paying attention.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that if you buy the separate musical gardens ticket, you can enter twice, but if you get the Passport ticket that includes the musical gardens, you can only enter once. Then the money works out as follows, with current prices: Palace €19.50, Musical Waters (2 entries to gardens) €10.50, Trianon €12.00 (Total €42.00); Passport (all 3 but only one garden entry) €28.50. So if one has a Passport ticket, is it better to go to the gardens in the morning or the afternoon? I think Versailles makes things more complicated than they need to be. Or maybe I do lol.
