Doesn't look like you need a ticket, and it also doesn't appear to be located within (what is now) the palace grounds. See if this is helpful?

Yes, it's slightly away from the chateaux and grounds. We've actually been there on a Sunday morning and had a "free" show watching the dressage practice at the stables. It was too early for the gallery to be open and we never got back.

We won't be there til mid Sep so maybe it will be open then.
