We will be going to Paris for 2 days in early July, then outside of Paris for 5 days for Loire Valley. I was thinking of then staying near Vesailles (Novotel) for two nights July 13/14. I see that there is a large picnic in the gardens on the 14th. We would plan on going to Versailles Gardens in the morning on the 14th, then enjoying the picnic later (wearing white). Would this be a fun thing for a family of teens/twenty-somethings to do for Bastille Day? The older ones might then train into Paris for Bastille Day evening events/fireworks, while we stay around Versaille area with younger teens. Then on the morning of the 15th, we plan on going into the Palace for a few hours right when it opens, as I thought it might be less crowded than on the 14th. Is this an OK plan?
