Versailles and Monet's gardens

We are 2 couples staying a few days in Paris and looking for a private guided tour of Versailles and possibly Monet's garden. Any suggestions? We want to get picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Paris. None of us have ever been to either place.
Thank you,
Milray Howell

Viator lists a couple of tours that hit both the Versailles chateau and Giverny plus several more that are just one or the other. Unless the chateau is the only part of Versailles you care about, you're missing quite a bit - the gardens, fountains, Trianon palaces and Marie Antoinettes hamlet. Giverny is lovely and the small village it's in has an art museum and a few restaurants/shops to visit.

We've had good luck with Viator, just read the details carefully like where they'll pick you up, what the cancellation policy is, etc since they rep different tour companies.

Just to claify, Viator is a 3rd party tour reseller owned by Trip Advisor. They do not run tours, they just sell them. You can see the actual name of the tour company on the booking site and it’s often pretty easy to book directly with the company. Companies are charged 25-30% for listing on Viator.

I did a 2-week Road Scholar tour with Laurent Guariglia last October to SW France. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very interesting to travel with. I’d have no hesitation on booking him for a day tour.

I’m sure others will agree that both of these locations are doable on your own if you want to try it. We (forum members) can give you pretty detailed instructions on how to get to either place.
