We are traveling Mid-March and planning to buy tickets in advance for Versailles and the Eiffel Tower. Are there days of the week that are less crowded than others? I've read that Versailles is busy on Tuesdays because the museums are closed. Any other insight?

Check the Eifel Tower website when you can get a reservation.

for prebuying tickets for ET you may be too late and they may be sold out.. but check the ones for the second level too..
Et if weather is decent.. always crowded .. but if you want to avoid long line and are normal healthy person you could do the stairs.. the line for them is always much shorter. Once you get to second level you can stand in a shorter line for a ticket to top on elevator( stairs only go to second level )
