Versailles and crowds ..is there a noticeable difference Tuesday or Wednesday

I am planning to take a fat tire bike tour either on a Tuesday or Wednesday . I have been advised not to
go to Versailles on our last day, Thursday, as it is tiring. In the travel guides Tuesday is listed as busy, but I am wondering if we will notice any difference between going on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Right now I have Tuesday reserved but can change . Advice is appreciated .

Versailles is full of tourists every day of the week during summer. It won´t make any difference what day you go.

Iowa Girl, just curious as to why you're concerned with being tired on Thursday? If you're flying home the next day you will have plenty of time to rest on the plane.

Iowa Girl, it's going to be a busy day no matter when you do it. I just wouldn't personally do a day trip out of Paris on the last day you have to spend in the city as, well, it's your last day. And I mentioned this on one of your other threads but personally I don't think Versailles is a gotta do on a short trip when there's so much to see in central Paris itself.

We had a full week Paris and had planned to do Versailles. Ended up skipping it entirely as it would have meant missing some important attractions and rushing some of the others in the city. Never regretted that decision. If you're worried about being tired, I'd consider dropping Versailles in favor of a bit more leisure time in Paris.

I visited Versailles on a Wednesday in early September, 2019. The advice I had read from travel forums was to get there as soon as it opened, and boy, what that good advice! I arrived to the train station closest to Versailles at 8:30 a.m. and got to the chateau by 8:40 a.m. By that time there were just a handful of people in line to get in. Within 10-15 minutes, the line started forming behind me. But, the chateau at that time was not crowded because we were the first ones there. The gardens weren't too bad either, from what I remember. But we beat the big tours coming in. If you're into history and love architecture and gardens, then Versailles is definitely something you want to see. It's quite an experience and you'll be glad you saw it. So much history there. And don't forget to see Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon (her house on the grounds of Versailles) and her peasant village built for she and her friends to "play at being normal." It's fascinating to learn about Louis XIV "The Sun King" who turned it into the palace it is today.
