Will be in Paris next week. Tentatively planning on going to Versailles mid week depending on weather. Not sure if I want the 9:00 morning ticket. The other plan would be to head over late morning, see the Trianon, etc etc first, and then the palace late afternoon perhaps around 3:00?

Get the earliest ticket— preferably at opening time— that you can get. because Versailles Palace gets crowded even during February. ( I was there in March and it was absolutely mobbed). See the Palace first and then the rest. Versailles quickly gets crowded with tour groups in the morning, so it’s better to be in the lead of the pack, rather than behind it. By afternoon, it is thronged with crowds. Wednesdays. Thursdays and Sundays are reportedly the least crowded days to visit.
