Verdun in July?

Greetings RS Forum!

Quick question -- I'll be in Paris in early July. Have always wanted to see Verdun and its WW1 sites.
For some reason, I recall reading or hearing that fall or winter is best due to weather but now can't recall why or if that makes sense.

Has anyone toured Verdun in the summer? Would you suggest I try or wait until a different visit during other season?

Huh?
It will be a very good time! Not easy without a car, do you plan to rent one? A tour from Paris, if it exists, will involve a long time on a bus.

Perhaps the winter suggestion is because all the leafy trees/vegetation cover the results of all the artillery strikes the rest of the year?

We visited Verdun in mid August 2019- also visited Trier and Maastricht - the weather was excellent. I think if going in July your only real concern would be if it was too hot but and not able to cool off as most hotels don't have A/C or fans that meet our US expectations...but we were fine and enjoyed the extended daylight -

We returned to France in July 2021 and visited Reims, Compeigne and Epernay- a little warm but absolutely worth it considering the longer daylight and that France had just re-opened to tourism - everyone was thrilled to see tourists and activity.

Thanks everyone for the speedy replies.
I am thrilled to hear that July will be fine.
I plan to take the train and then either hire a guide or rent a car once in Verdun.
