Verdon Gorge In March

Hi,

My family is keen to see the Gorge and in mid March. Half of us will be hoping to do walks or kayak, the other less physically fit group likely exploring villages or just relaxing at the accom.

Wondering where would be best to stay for 3 nights nearby, considering availability to restaurants/food to cook ourselves at that time of year. From what I have read it seems likely a lot of restaurants and so will not be open that time of year.

Places I have found that seem to have suitable accommodation are Quinson, Riez and maybe Sainte-Croix Du Verdon. Ideally we would've done Moustiers Sainte Marie but there doesn't appear to be anything appropriate there.

Alternatively are we better off just staying further away and making day trip/s there as we see fit, and if so are there any towns that particularly stand out for this?

Thanks

You might look to see what is available in Castellane or Saint Andres les Alpes. I haven’t been to this area for 20 years, so take this with a grain of salt.

I took a week-long hiking trip in his area. We hiked between the following towns:
Riez
Moustiers Sainte Marie
La Palud sur Verdon (we stayed here 2 nights as we did the Verdon Gorge from here)
Castellane
Saint Andres les Alpes

Castellane and Saint Andres les Alpes both seemed to have more restaurants than the other 3 towns, but I have no idea if they are open in March.
